I was enrolled in a watercolor painting course at 10, when my mom noticed I had a natural inclination towards art and I've never stopped painting.
Growing up in Indiana, on the shores of Lake Michigan (still my favorite swimming lake!) Chicago was not far away and my family would frequently visit the Museums. During one of the visits to the Art Institute I was thunderstruck! I was just ten years old being jostled along in a single file of people through a pathway of paintings of water lilies. They were taller than me! The colors were so vivid! My first exposure to Monet and Impressionism sparked a fire in me.
After moving to California, I completed my degree in Landscape Architecture, with a focus on art and design. I settled in Bishop, a small town at the foothills of the Eastern Sierra Nevada and fell in love with the mountains! Numerous hiking and backpacking trips transported me to the majesty of the high elevation with fairyland-like meadows, pink-granite so smooth to be comforting, and jagged snow-capped peaks. The mountains and high desert were my paradise and muse for the next 35 years!
I was a Landscape Architect with the US Forest Service for a long time and then opened my own coffeehouse in Bishop. I met my husband over a cup of coffee!
For nearly 10 years we worked and travelled the world, living in 35 different locations throughout Europe, Asia and America! And every chance we had, we’d search out and visit the art museums. I experienced first-hand some of the finest works of art ever to be created, in the finest museums of the world.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
